Come weep with us

The other night Adele performed on Later… and we missed it. Then today we noticed some people talking about her performance on the show and thought, “yeah, whatevs, she’s not all that”. WRONG. This performance of ‘Someone Like You’ – her future single, taken from her second album, 21 – is so gut-wrenchingly beautiful we actually did a little cry when we first heard it. It’s got that kind of timeless, almost classic feel to it and every time she sings “Never mind, I’ll  find someone like you” we’re crushed.

Please note how she goes from nervous, hands-clenched subtlety at the beginning to expressive, almost aggressive gesticulating by the end. Perfect. As one youtube user says, “when it’s not playing, I miss it”.
